Date: December 1st 2008
Hope your Thanksgiving was enjoyable. Here at MayDOG central, we've been busy putting together a store with merchandise featuring our nice new logo (contributed by member Jeff Venier - thanks, Jeff!). Please click here to learn more about items for sale.
This Sunday, December 7, at 2pm, MayDOG will be marching in the annual holiday parade! Look for our small group of hardy parade pups and people marching behind our snazzy new banner. If you plan to attend and would be willing to take some photos for posterity, please let me know.
Finally, we received an update on November 26 from Sally Bubier, a member of the Maynard Board of Selectmen, regarding the board's timetable for holding a meeting regarding our dog park proposal. An exerpt from her email is reproduced below:
"We discussed meeting with the "Dog Park People" last night at the Board of Selectmen's meeting. It was decided that the Town Administrator would first meet with the Gerry Collins since you already presented to the Board of Health and they are ultimately in control of the landfill. Then, we'll go from there. John Curran will no doubt contact you for further info. To be honest, there was resistance to having the group come before the board before the project is vetted at the staff level for practical concerns they may have."
The wheels of town government turn slowly, but I don't think we should be discouraged. We'll keep working on setting up a hearing as soon as possible.
Happy tails,
Lisa
