Hi all,

In case you haven't heard already, the Maynard Board of Selectmen has received a proposal from a solar energy company to use some or all of the landfill area as a solar farm. The Beacon Villager has a news story.

I've posted a comment on that page with my own personal thoughts, and it looks like others have piped up already as well, but I just wanted to make sure all of you are aware of the proposal.

As I said on the news article web page, I don't necessarily think that having a solar farm there precludes using part of the space for a recreation area, including a fenced off-leash recreation area. I've written to the solar energy company (Borrego Solar) to see if I can get a copy of the report they presented to the BoS and will keep you all informed of anything I find out.

Thanks,
Lisa
