The Maynard Board of Selectmen (BOS) have been talking about the proposal we submitted in January. They are also discussing a proposal from a company called Borrego Solar concerning the installation of a solar farm at the former landfill site. Both proposed uses of the site would need approval from the Mass. Department of Environmental Protection (DEP). DEP considers the solar farm to be a "major use" proposal and the dog park to be a "minor use" proposal. The BOS has decided to file the major use application first and wait for the DEP's decision on that before filing the minor use application... This means a delay (but there is no way to know how long).

MayDOG has been given an opportunity to come before the BOS on Tuesday, March 24, at 7pm. We need to have as many people as possible at this meeting. It is important that we tell the BOS how important this dog park is to us and why we need it sooner rather than later. We really need a significant show of support.

Take a look at this picture of the signs Provincetown organizers made when they went before their BOS. Let me know if you all think it would be worth it to try to do something similar.

During the meeting, we will also ask the BOS to grant us a parade permit for the May 30 K9-5K.
