Is it time to order your dogs' flea and tick repellent? Save some money - order online through Petco, PetSmart, or Drs. Foster and Smith, and MayDOG will get up to 4% of the purchase price donated at no cost to you! I just ordered mine, and MayDOG will get a $7.20 donation because I did it through iSearchiGive.com. It couldn't be any easier. Visit this link for full details.
We're doing two more awareness/fundraising events in May and June to help us get our message out and broaden our base of support.
Event #1: Paws in the Park, a fundraiser for Save a Dog When: Sat, May 31, 11am – 4pm Where: John H. Pierce House, 17 Weston Road, Lincoln, MA 01773 What: Some of the activities that will be running throughout the day include an Agility Try-out ring, Micro-Chip Clinic, Demonstrations, Parade of Adoptable Dogs, Doggie Games, face painting for the kids, a silent auction, food, Pet Photo Sessions, Pet Massage, exhibitors, and more. My mom will be in town, so I can't do this one... It will be a great opportunity to reach a wide audience, so I hate to miss it. Can you help us sign up people on our mailing list and sell our cute "fortune balls"? Please let me know.
Event #2: WHISKER WALK! When: Sun, 7 June, 11am – 3pm Where: Lancaster Fairgrounds, 318 Seven Bridge Road, Lancaster, MA 01532 What: Come see exhibits, demonstrations, educational programs, special attractions, product giveaways, entertainment, auctions/raffles, food, fun and things for adults and kids to see, do and buy – both human and pet related! Top off your exciting day and join us for the Walk - a leisurely (almost) ONE mile stroll on shaded, flat, grassy trails with your well-behaved dog. We're asking for a minimum donation of $10 per family, but you are welcome to donate more! All proceeds will go to MayDOG, but we need to register at least 10 people to make back the cost of our table - so please consider registering even if you can't make the event. Register online.
Another event will be held on June 14, sponsored by Best Friends Pet Care (see flyer)-- but I can't sign us up unless I get a couple more volunteers. All of you who've told me to let you know if there's anything you can do to help... this is it! I know a lot of people and groups ask you for time and money... but in this case, MayDOG is trying to create something that will directly benefit you and your dog, so please consider getting involved.
Finally, we're tentatively planning to do a free Kids & K-9s safety and dog bite prevention workshop at the Maynard farmers' market in August. Let me know if you have any interest in helping to plan that event and/or spend any Saturday mornings at the market's community groups table.
Til next time,
Lisa
